ABOUT US
OUR STORY
The effect of the COVID-19 crisis and the ensuing acceleration of the digital economy have emphasized the need for the OAS Member States to address the gaps in skills and readiness of its workforce and citizens. Women, minorities, youth and unskilled workers were among the most impacted with increased poverty, inequality and diminished opportunities for social mobility.
The OAS Youth Academy reflects our commitment with providing youth and other vulnerable populations with the necessary skills and capabilities they need in the areas of transformative science and technologies to thrive in the new labor market and be competitive in the Industry 4.0.
OUR GOAL
We aim to train 10,000 youth in transformative science and technologies by 2024. Among those, women and girls, rural and indigenous communities and other populations in vulnerable situations are our top priority.
COLLABORATION
Strategic partners are at the heart of this initiative. We are expanding quickly, and welcome cooperation offers from public, private and academic institutions to share basic and advanced training in transformative technologies, remote labs, mentoring, courses and certifications on digital skills and for Industry 4.0 for the youth of the Americas.
